Mission
We strive to attract ships and cargo to the Port of Yokohama through the development and management of logistics facilities. We will contribute to vitalizing the local community and supporting the growth of our national economy by developing the Port of Yokohama as a main port in the international shipping network.
Vision
As Yokohama Port Corporation(YPC), we will aim to realize our corporate philosophy based on the principle of working “with the Port of Yokohama.” We also laid down policies on employee attitudes based on working “with our employees,” and policies on working “with the community” as a company rooted in the Port of Yokohama.

Strategy
Medium-term management plan(2021-2025)
Our plan is to establish logistics-related businesses as a new pillar, and implement initiatives within the framework of the following four pillars:
1.Manage and bolster the functions of logistics facilities at the Port of Yokohama
We will ensure the reliable management and operation of our own and public logistics-related facilities for handling a wide range of cargo centered on automobiles. At the same time, we will enhance our cargo handling capabilities by promoting the functional transformation of the Daikoku C-4 Terminal.
- We will promote the use of, e.g., terminal facilities handling diverse cargo centered on automobiles
- We will enhance the efficiency of, e.g., designated management operations
- We will ensure the development and appropriate management of port facilities
2.Enhance and bolster the functions of logistics
As the pillar of a new business, we will aim to establish a logistics hub in the port and promote the Logistics Park Project to concentrate cargo in the harbor district.
- We will ensure the promotion of the Logistics Park Project at Honmoku Pier A
- We will develop businesses around the new logistics facilities
3.Improve and utilize technologies and services to support port operations
We will strive to improve and utilize our management resources of technologies and services in aiming to realize port operations that will offer users outstanding value, including environmental friendliness.
- We will implement initiatives aimed at realizing a “green port” in Yokohama, the environmental city of the future
- We will engage in research on new initiatives leveraging advanced technologies and adopt them proactively, while providing technologies and services to domestic and overseas ports
4.Bolster the management foundation
To ensure the appropriate handling of emergencies such as natural disasters, including typhoons and storm surges that cause extensive damage, and the spread of COVID-19, we will enhance our organizational response capabilities from a management perspective, and establish a system focused on dealing with the “new normal”

Initiatives in SDGs
Yokohama City has been designated as an “SDGs city of the future” by the national government, and engages in a variety of initiatives in aiming to resolve issues in the three areas of the environment, economy and society.
Our company too, has identified five key issues (materialities) from the perspective of sustainability. Based on these, we will strive to contribute to the attaining of the SDGs by promoting various initiatives in this plan.
