On 10 July 2024, Yokohama Port Corporation (YPC) President Uematsu, together with Mr. Shinbo, Port and Harbor Bureau, City of Yokohama Director General, Mr. Hitomi, President of YKIP and others welcomed Mr. Jens Meier, the President of IAPH, and CEO of Hamburg Port Authority, Ms. Ingrid Boqué, Hamburg Port Authority, Global Strategic Network Officer, Mr. Cédric Virciglio, Haropa Port, Director of Strategic Planning in charge of European and International Affairs, to the Port of Yokohama.

On the day of the visit, an overview of the Port of Yokohama and its initiatives to decarbonize the port were presented at the Minami-Honmoku Pier. This was followed by a fruitful discussion, which confirmed the importance of the Port of Yokohama, the Port of Hamburg and the Port of Haropa working together to decarbonize the port through various opportunities, including the World Ports Conference.

The IAPH World Ports Conference is scheduled to be held in Hamburg this October.
