Welcome the visit of the Governor of Maryland, U.S.A. and accompanying officials to the Port of Yokohama

On April 15, 2025, Hisataka Uematsu, President of the Yokohama Port Corporation (YPC), hosted a delegation of officials from the State of Maryland, including Governor Wes Moore, in collaboration with the Port and Harbor Bureau of the City of Yokohama and Wallenius Wilhelmsen.

Uematsu extended a warm welcome to the Governor and the accompanying officials on behalf of the Port of Yokohama. He also conveyed his condolences to those affected by the Francis Scott Key Bridge incident at the Port of Baltimore in March 2024 and commended their swift response in restoring logistics operations.

After the initial greeting, he engaged in discussions with the officials regarding the shared characteristics of both ports, particularly in relation to automobile cargo handling and environmental initiatives. He expressed his hope that this visit would serve as a valuable opportunity to strengthen their relationships.

Subsequently, the Governor and other officials received an update on the Carbon Neutral Port (CNP) at the Port of Yokohama, initiatives aimed at enhancing the infrastructure for automobile cargo, and the environmental efforts of Wallenius Wilhelmsen.

Following the presentations, the officials conducted a tour of the automobile terminal located at Daikoku Pier.
