Uematsu gave a presentation on the topic of “Advancing Health, Safety, and Environmental Standards in Modern Port Operations”, introducing initiatives at the Port of Yokohama, including health management and safety measures for cargo handling operations as well as measures to address climate change (adaptation and mitigation), with examples of utilizing digital transformation(DX).

<Topic>

– Ensuring worker safety and health maintenance through mutual support and information sharing

– Disaster and Accident Prevention

– Initiatives to develop a carbon-neutral port

After the presentation, we received the below comments from the attendees

– We are reminded of the importance of safety in the operations

– We really resonate with the need to improve safety and how even the simple action of (pointing and) calling “YOSHI! (This means OK in Japanese)” can help prevent accidents.

Through these efforts, we will continue to strive to enhance the presence of the Port of Yokohama, deepen our partnerships with overseas ports and stakeholders, and further promote efforts toward a sustainable future.
