Dr. Ichio Motono, Senior Executive Director of Yokohama Port Corporation (YPC), attended the Busan International Port Conference (BIPC) hosted by the Busan Port Authority (BPA) in South Korea from September 15 to 16, 2026.

Dr. Motono served as a panelist in a joint session co-organized by BPA, the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH), and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). Moderated by Patrick Verhoeven, Managing Director of IAPH, the panel featured experts from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), ADB, BPA and YPC.

During the session, the panelists exchanged views on key industry topics, including the impact of recent geopolitical disruptions on maritime transport and port operations in Asia, as well as progress in the transition toward decarbonized energy.
