On April 26, 2024, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed between Port of Hueneme, Oxnard Harbor District, California, USA, and the Port and Harbor Bureau, City of Yokohama and Yokohama Port Corporation (YPC) President Shinsuke Ito, signed as a witness.

The MOU confirms that both ports are going to aim to create Green Automotive Shipping Corridor and cooperate and collaborate regarding environmentally friendly sustainable port and harbor development and automotive logistics activities.

YPC has been making efforts to reduce CO2 emissions from terminals, including the stable supply of electricity derived from renewable energy sources and the achievement of 100% LEDs for yard lighting.

We expect that the signing of this MOU will further advance the development of a Green Automotive Shipping Corridor at the Port of Yokohama.
